Amazon's Gold Box Deal of the Day features The Ultimate Matrix Collection for the discounted price of $26.99. The set includes The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, The Animatrix, and another disc of full of special features. The deal translates to about $6.75 per movie.
The $26.99 price point, which amounts to 58% off the $64.98 SRP, is the lowest that this set has ever been on Amazon. This is a very good deal when you consider that the set was priced around $80 when it was introduced a few years ago.
WOW.. this is a good deal indeed. I've not seen this go on sale that often and I've not seen this set at this low price. I ordered mine today from Amazon. It will complement my collection nicely.
Just got the first Matrix when it was $9.99, going to rent the other two only. I enjoyed Reloaded quite a bit, haven't seen Revolutions, but I don't suspect I would rewatch them enough to warrant a buy.
Cool, but I'm good...got The Matrix a year back at Wal-Mart for $10, and I just picked up Reloaded for 40% off at my local Border's store liquidation sale. I'm fine with the first two, I have no desire to get Revolutions as it totally sucked.
OMG this is an excellent price for an excellent box set. I was able to get it way below the $99.xx price way back but this makes it look like a steal. I think the PQ and AQ are excellent.
I woke up at 1am for no reason and checked my email. Got the email from blu-ray.com about this deal and JUMPED on it. I've been waiting for the price to get reasonable for so long and it's finally there.
Sweet. Had this in my price tracker for $35 for the longest time, surprised to see it drop to below $30! I agree with most on here that the two sequels didn't live up to the promise of the first. However, although they didn't offer much in the form of narrative/story, there were some fantastic action sequences (car chase, anyone?) that will look and sound incredible on BD. Plus, the plethora of bonus features makes this a good purchase for me.
the list price was certainly more than $65 when this came out.
It obviously has been adjusted over time.
I see this a lot on amazon, where the msrp suddenly gets lower after a year or more goes by on various boxsets.
I already own the digibook of the first one and I actually enjoyed 2 & 3 somewhat. I'm thinking of getting this not only 2 & 3 but also for The Animatrix. What to do, what to do.
So i clicked over to amazon to get this deal (using the blu-ray.com link ofcourse). now at that price i was going to use my debit card to pay for it. but amazon always defaults to my Amazon.com Rewards credit card. and it showed me i had $14.04 in rewards points. apparently now you can use your points as you get them. (you dont have to wait for a specific number. 1000, 5000, 10000 points etc) so i went ahead and used the amazon card, applied my $14.04 and ended up with the set for $12.95! now c'mon!
Just got word there is a backorder on this from Amazon. So if you ordered yours from Amazon, there is a good chance your order won't come in on time as expected. They estimate the arrival time will be Aug 20th now. My order was due tomorrow 8/11. I sent an email to ask why the order hasn’t been shipped. I got a response saying the item is on backorder. Wonder why Amazon waits until the customer sends an inquiry before deciding to tell the customer the item is on backorder. I've shopped Amazon a lot in the past 10 years, but this is the first time they have been irresponsible about letting me know the status of my order.
But yet, the wait is still worth it. Good price, if they honor the deal.
BTW, if you click on the link now, the Amazon price is 59.99, not 44.99 as stated from Blu-Ray.com
Same situation here. It's not like I need it for anything immediately, so I can wait. The price was good enough @ 26.99 to make it worth what little patience I have these days. However, I'm still bummed out. The new Delivery estimate they gave me is: August 19th-30th. We'll see!
August 11th: Why haven't they changed anything regarding it's inventory stock on the product profile? Are they only messing with the people who took advantage of the low price because they can?
