Warner Bros. has unveiled their first attempt at bringing all eight Harry Potter films into one set for the U.S. market with the release of Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection.
This set will include all eight Potter films spread across eight Blu-ray discs. No additional discs for special features or DVD/digital copies will be included.
The franchise collection will hit stores alongside Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on November 11th with a SRP of $139.99. Pre-orders for the set are now available on Amazon.
Below is an outline of each film in the set and the special features included on each movie's disc.
Warners and the books author are going to milk this franchise for everything its worth. Expect to see a release in one form or another at least once a year; Maybe twice a year for… well forever.
You have heard of double dipping? Tripple dipping? Expect dipping on an unimaginable number level. This set is only the beginning.
I'm waiting for the boxset of the ultimate editions. I don't mind if I have to wait longer since there's already a bunch of blus being released around the next few months.
Any word yet on which versions of these films they will be? I know several of the early ones were originally released without lossless audio. I have zero interest in any of those.
well this set sucks..not even the special features? really?
star wars was 6 discs on bluray...& it all came with special features. this harry potter set sucks.
im just gonna wait for a better set to come out for the US. like the french one with the elder wand and all? ya id rather much prefer something thats cooler looking..especially if its supose to be a "collectors item"
^^^^ well the 1st 5 discs have special features. but what about the last 3?!?!. but of course like ibeetle said in their post..theyre most definitely gonna milk this
Already own all the movies on Blu-ray other then Deathly Hallows Pt.2. I am not buying a complete 8 movie set till they release the extended editions for all the movies.
I want to own Harry Potter but I'll keep waiting for the Ultimate Collector's Edition of the full series. There are always lots of blu-rays to choose from. This is a good set for those who don't mind not having all the extras that have already been released and those to come in the future.
Ha - they've had all of this time to plan some super/uber set and they come up with this?
Yeah, I'll wait... I'll gladly upgrade all 8 in some sort of "ultimate edition", but I've got no use for this. And, like others, I have a feeling we'll be seeing this re-released again (and again).
This is truly a joke. I'm tired of seeing several box sets for a movie franchise just so they can rack up more money. GIVE US WHAT WE WANT, a REAL box set with ALL the special features we deserve.

A great idea for a special collector's edition box set-----Have the outside box slide apart like the Transformers Matrix Of Leadership set or the Stargate SG-1 set from China. Have it be parchment coloured and decorated to look like the envelope that Harry got his Hogwars letter in. You pull the ends off the box, then flip the "wax sealed" flap open to get to the discs.
Looking at the size of the box (and seeing all the other BD box sets) they will be slim cases. It's a pass for me. Gotta wait for the Ultimate Editions of DH P1&2
I have held out for ten years to buy the Potter series. I've seen them in theaters, and rented them again from Netflix and the library but never bought one. I wanted the giant box set. This ISN'T it. I could care less about the bonus features really but I want the box set to have the extended cuts of the first two films. When a set of the collector's editions comes out, I'll buy that.
I was looking forward to this set until i found out that parts 1-5 only have PCM audio and not the HD audio from the special editions. Not good enough.
