This December, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release The Smurfs on Blu-ray. The family comedy finds the Smurfs fleeing to New York City in order to escape the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria, The Simpsons Movie); once there, they make the acquaintance of a beleaguered advertising agent (Neil Patrick Harris, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs).
Very interested in the Christmas mini-movie, from what I hear it's all animated, and features a blend of 2D animation with the Smurfs' new CGI look. Heard nothing yet about it being on the UK release though, hopefully it will be included.
The movie that broke Jake from the Cinema Snob. I've never seem so much raw rage for a movie and it's fun to watch. Everyone needs to see that review, you'll find it by typing "Cinema Snob Smurfs review." WARNING, A lot of strong language in that video.
Count me genuinely surprised that the filmmakers and the geniuses over at marketing didn't market this as the must have BLUE ray of the holiday season (cue rolling of eyes)
Nothing on earth, not even the presence of cute as a button Jayma Mays, would cause me to want to see this raping of my childhood. Winnie The Pooh on blu FTW!
Actually the whole family loved this one. It's much better than people give it credit for. I went in, dragged by my daughter, expecting something beyond awful, but I left pleasantly surprised. It's not Casablanca, but it isn't Phantom Menace either. No need for all the hate.
