Looking to replicate last year's Christmas shopping-season success of The Hangover on Blu-ray, Warner Bros. has saved The Hangover Part II (which hit theaters way back in May) for a December release.
The Todd Phillips comedy, which brings back the wolfpack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galfianakis) will hit retail in a Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo pack with Ultraviolet access. Strangely, this release will not feature an extended or unrated cut of the film.
The Hangover Part II beat back a barrage of bad reviews to reclaim its title as the summer's number one comedy. The film swaps locales and has the guys searching for Stu's (Helms) soon-to-be brother-in-law in the grimy streets of Bangkok. Ken Jeong, Jeffrey Tambor, Bryan Callen and Justin Bartha all return to co-star.
The Blu-ray will feature DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Special features will include:
Comedy Rhythm of Todd Phillips
Not Your Everyday Monkey
Bangkok Tour with Mr. Chow
Action Mash-Up
Hangover 2 Laugh Track
Gag Reel
Look for the The Hangover Part II to street on December 6th with a starting price of $35.99. Pre-orders should be available on Amazon shortly.
after reading the info up there, to get something straight, the reason why there isnt an unrated/extended cut is because the director himself said in an interview that the movie was his full vision so no unrated version will be needed
Loved the first one, but the whole time I watched this, I thought "They already did this... they already did this... they already did this..." It was basically one of those times where it was a sequel, but it felt like a remake. Didn't hate it, I was just disappointed :-/
It's basically a carbon copy of the first film... but I still managed to be entertained by it. Same plot, new jokes. I'll definitely get it once the price drops a bit.
I heard it wasn't as good as the original, but I still wanted to see it and I unfortunately missed out on that one due to taking someone else to see X-Men: First Class. Netflix for me.
I enjoyed it ok in the theaters for what it was, because I knew going in it'd just be the same gags, but it's not a movie I'd ever watch again. I won't be picking this one up.
Todd Philips has claimed his hatered of Uncut editions adding barely any new footage, so he decided to stand against it a not make one.
As for the film, it wasn't very good, I'll be taking a miss on the blu-ray, although wasn't there some talk of changing Ed Helms tatoo with CGI since they didn't have the rights to use it.
"One of the most uninspired sequels of all time"? Hahahaha, I just love dumb comments like that. Oh, I didn't like it so it must be one of the worst movies ever made! Whatever. Bitter snobs bore me anyway.
I enjoyed this movie, I'll be picking this up the day it comes out!
WHERE IS THE TEASER TRAILER & THEATRICAL TRAILER & DELETED SCENES & COMMENTARY & ALTERNATE SCENES & ON THE BLURAY ?
ALSO THIS TITLE BETTER NOT HAVE BONUS FEATURES ON BD LIVE BECAUSE THAT IS A JOKE, STREAMING IS HORRIBLE
WE WANT ALL THE FEATURES ON THE BLU-RAY
WHILE YOU ARE AT IT, RE-RELEASE THE 1ST HANGOVER, ADD THE TRAILER + TEASER TRAILER + ALTERNATE SCENE TAKES AND USE SEAMLESS BRANCHING INSTEAD OF PUTTING BOTH VERSIONS ON 1 DISC THAT LOWERS BIT RATES
Does anyone know if they won the lawsuit over the tattoo will be very disappointing if they altered it for the bluray release. While I didn't care for this in theaters I'm sure it will grow on me it wasn't that bad guys. As far as the features goes I could care less I never watch them.
Seriously guys. What did you expect this movie to be? It says it all in the title. The Hangover PART II. How could you go into this movie expecting anything else other than the first movie with different jokes and a different City?
I knew what it was going to be and I enjoyed it all the more for it. Will definately buy.
