For a limited time only, Amazon and Paramount Home Entertainment are having a special deal on the Mean Girls Blu-ray.
The Blu-ray edition of this highly acclaimed teen comedy - the result of a creative partnership between Freaky Friday director Mark Waters, 30 Rock creator Tina Fey, and Saturday Night Live executive producer Lorne Michaels - currently retails on Amazon for $15.99.
However, customers who purchase Mean Girls sometime in the next week are eligible to receive an additional $3 discount; entering the promotional code "PLASTICS" during the checkout process activates the savings and lowers the price to $12.99.
This Amazon promotion is good through October 17th, 2011.
I am surprised as well at the choice of title and (relatively) high price. As for the movie itself, Mean Girls is probably one of the best teen comedies I've seen. Tina Fey did some sharp writing on this. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
Sad, really sad. Lindsay Lohan had so much promise when she did this film. Now it is more about Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried's fruitful careers since.
got this at 60% when Virgin Records Megastore in Union Square, Manhattan was going out of business back in May of 2008. Funny that Blu-rays were so expensive back then that I think 60% off of the SRP of $29.99 only made the price about the same, like $11.99.
But seriously, I was suprised to see this story in the "News" section here, since $12.99 is hardly newsworthy, when The Others (which only just came out on Blu-ray a month ago is currently $5.49!!!!!)
I don't get this news at all. This has been out for a while and I don't think most people care whether you save $3 off on it or not. Please don't tell me that a a few marketing execs at Paramount actually discussed this $3 off an ol movie promotion over an actual meeting. Did anyone see if their stock shot up after this announcement?
