This December, Fox Home Entertainment will bring Rise of the Planet of the Apes to Blu-ray. The Planet of the Apes prequel focuses on how the relationship between neuroscientist Will Rodman (James Franco, 127 Hours) and genetically-enhanced chimpanzee Caesar (Andy Serkis, King Kong) leads to a global primate revolution.
Directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist), the picture overcame early negative buzz to become one of last summer's sleeper hits, drawing strong commercial and critical support; a large part of that praise is directly attributable to Weta Digital (The Lord of the Rings, Avatar), the Academy Award-winning special effects team that spearheaded the extensive CGI trickery behind Caesar and his army of ape warriors.
While Fox has yet to list the technical specifications for their Blu-ray/Digital Copy combo pack, the set has a number of bonus features, including:

Three theatrical trailers
Rise of the Planet of the Apes streets on December 13th.
I love the 'Planet of the Apes' franchise and this is the BEST one ever! This movie is fantastic on every level. And I love the title 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'. People are familiar with 'Planet of the Apes'. They are NOT familiar with '....the Apes'. That's why FOX made the WISE choice to insert 'Planet of....' in the title and I am very glad they did.
@insomniac013 I guarantee you did not watch the whole film in the trailer. The trailer for this film was extremely misleading especially in regards to tone and characterization.
Nicely done cover for a worthy entertainment. I'm contemplating buying the Play.com steelbook myself, though this (slipcovered?) Regular edition looks good too.
I am loving the Three theatrical trailers, loved the music in them. But if they are not on the disc, I will not buy this movie. The trailers sure did annoy me in theaters and on TV, due to being on too much, but I love that they are included unlike Green Lanterns even more annoying marketing.
What is so "horrible" about the cover art? It's simple and iconic, much like the original movies. If someone can release this artwork on a Steelbook I'll be on it like a chimp on a banana.
i seen this film i seen it like on a dvd copy it was a burned copy, and i will say it was a col film it had a cool story and it was action packed and the monkey was cool aswell,i will buy this the only thing i will say is that i was not that big on the ending but i guess the more i try and think about the film the more i can say ok maybe it does fit do i think this was the best film all year no not the very best but it was fun to watch i think.i say rent it first just to see if u will like it .
This is a day 1 or first week buy for me. Excellent story, characters, direction, and capped with marvelous visual effects. Andy Serkis as Caesar simply owned it all. I do hope that they keep it in the original aspect ratio. I must admit that Fox ticked me off a bit when they "opened up" Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader from 2:35 to 1:78. I have gotten used to it somewhat, but I would still grab another Blu-ray of that film if it had the original 2:35 ratio. I hope they leave the Apes ratio alone. Awesome bonus feature list too. Featurettes and/or documentaries, that's what I like to see.
Although I planned to see this in the cinema and actually managed to see the trailer at the movies I simply didn't get a chance - Day 1 without hesitation.
