This November, Magnet and Magnolia Home Entertainment will release Tucker & Dale vs. Evil on Blu-ray. Alan Tudyk (Firefly) and Tyler Labine (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) star in this horror-comedy as two good-natured hillbillies who unwittingly cause a massacre when they rescue a beautiful young college student (Katrina Bowden, NBC's 30 Rock) from a drowning accident. From Tucker and Dale's perspective, their actions are completely altruistic, but the girl's friends mistakingly brand the two men as kidnapping psychopaths, setting forth a series of increasingly gruesome misunderstandings.
Director Eli Craig's film also features Brandon Jay McLaren (AMC's The Killing), Christie Laing (Scary Movie 4), and Jesse Moss (The Uninvited) as Chad, the college students' unhinged leader.
Magnet's Blu-ray presents the film in its widescreen aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also has the following bonus supplements:
Making of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil featurette
Commentary with Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, and director Eli Craig
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is expected to street on November 29th.
Great movie, it's a movie that you could see Simon Pegg and Nick Frost teaming up doing, except I don't think they'd be able to pull off the hillbilly act.
Dunno why it came out in the UK before the US, but it's definitely worth a buy, especially if you're a horror film fan as it pokes fun at a lot of horror cliches. Tudyk and Labine are a great double-act too.
I can't wait to see this! I checked out the Magnet booth at last weekend's New York Comic Con and they were advertising this like crazy! In fact, they gave me a wicked t-shirt, koozie and poster for free. Pumped me up for the film even more so! LOL!
Great, hilarious movie! Caught it on HDNet Movies and will definitely pick up the Blu-ray. I'll probably end up screening this one for my guests on Halloween just so that I can watch it again.
I have this preordered and cannot wait to watch it again. I am glad that I was able to catch this in theaters. It was playing in only one theater in Tennessee that I could find and went to the opening midnight show. It was such a good time with hilarious performances.....and instantly quotable!
Only saying over-rated because of all the raves here. It was a freebie on hd-net/directv I think a month or so ago. Cute, worth a watch. That's about it. Hope it doesn't cost you guys too much.
