Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'In the Valley of Elah' to Blu-ray on February 19th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No specs have been announced at this time, but expect the usual VC-1 and Dolby Digital treatment. Extras include the two featurettes "After Iraq" and "Coming Home".
'In the Valley of Elah' tells the story of a war veteran (Tommy Lee Jones), his wife (Susan Sarandon) and the search for their son, a soldier who recently returned from Iraq but has mysteriously gone missing, and the police detective (Charlize Theron) who helps in the investigation.

Very powerful movie. Great performances from the cast. Suspenseful story. Had some important messages, but they are really only noticeable after the movie ends and you find yourself thinking deeply about the outcome. |

Hey, "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" is also coming!
Much more my kind of film. And it has extras, unlike the barebones DVD.
As long as Warner don't package a HD DVD in the Blu case, I'll be there. |

@DrinkMore, Seretur
I agree with yall. They need to stop mixing DUDs in blu cases. Lets hope they get this straightened out very very soon. |

I haven't watched this movie, but I will give it a try when it comes out.
So, does this mean that WB will not go blu - exclusive (it is coming out in HD-DUD also), or do you guys think they play it à la Paramount ? |

I bet Seretur never even saw the movie. Elah that is.
It would be awesome if this was Warner's Blades of Glory though |

This was an aweful movie... I would have asked for my money back, but it was a free preview 3 days before it came out. Tommy Lee Jones is a good actor, that is about the only good thing I can say about this movie. |

Apparently there's no accounting for taste with some people. I saw this at the theater, and I am very surprised it isn't getting more Oscar buzz. It was definately the best movie I saw this year, and I look forward to the Blu-ray release. |
