Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'In the Valley of Elah' to Blu-ray on February 19th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No specs have been announced at this time, but expect the usual VC-1 and Dolby Digital treatment. Extras include the two featurettes "After Iraq" and "Coming Home".
'In the Valley of Elah' tells the story of a war veteran (Tommy Lee Jones), his wife (Susan Sarandon) and the search for their son, a soldier who recently returned from Iraq but has mysteriously gone missing, and the police detective (Charlize Theron) who helps in the investigation.
nice to see another one from WB. I will be picking this one up day one since i missed it in theatres and i heard it was good. Now I am waiting to hear from WB that they are going Blu exclusive...how long till CES, 18 days? WB start working on that press release.
Very powerful movie. Great performances from the cast. Suspenseful story. Had some important messages, but they are really only noticeable after the movie ends and you find yourself thinking deeply about the outcome.
I haven't watched this movie, but I will give it a try when it comes out.
So, does this mean that WB will not go blu - exclusive (it is coming out in HD-DUD also), or do you guys think they play it à la Paramount ?
This was an aweful movie... I would have asked for my money back, but it was a free preview 3 days before it came out. Tommy Lee Jones is a good actor, that is about the only good thing I can say about this movie.
Apparently there's no accounting for taste with some people. I saw this at the theater, and I am very surprised it isn't getting more Oscar buzz. It was definately the best movie I saw this year, and I look forward to the Blu-ray release.
