After deciding to release only on the HD DVD format, Digital Playground has gone neutral and will release their adult film 'Pirates' on Blu-ray this January. The main feature will be presented in 1080p, and unlike the HD DVD counterpart, all extras will come in 1080p as well. No other technical specs are available at this time.
As to why Digital Playground decided to switch after being a die hard HD DVD supporter, founder Joone commented, "A lot of people were emailing that bought a PlayStation and they were basically saying, 'When are you guys going to release Blu-ray?'"
I am sure Sony doesn't want to hear this, but Porn and PS3 is a great mix. Most of the PS3 buyers are likely males, have money and certainly like porn... :-)
And BD still gets better extras because it has freaking more space!!!!
Well Sony has to hear this, if they really want blu-ray to be the next format, then they have to go allow this to happen...even if PORN is not as big anymore.
I have the "Pirates" on regular DVD and it is pretty good

Blu-ray continues to be better than HD DVD in all areas.

I think Sony said to will not allow Pornographic titles to be produced in their Blu Ray production facilities. However if they buy their own equipment or get another Blu Ray producer to make the disc then they can "
PEOPLE..... just do a search there's like 4 or 5 adult titles on BR already out there. Maybe Sony won't burn those discs, but the porn industry is already doing it themselves. this is old news.
Wasn't Digital Playground complaining about a non-existent porn ban about a year ago? Oops, seems that was a bunch of bs. So much porn helping Toshiba win.

Awww an end to HD-DVD I see. Once porn goes Blu-ray there is no stop! The porn industry always influences technology and since SO many people have Blu-ray player they knew what they had to do and support it. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold 3-4x as many copies on Blu-ray compared to HD-DVD dud.
reason is because pple rip their HD-DVD's and share it..i downloaded it yesterday jk...and with all those porn on the internet..i think the porn industry is tryin to limit pple from making copies...etc..but stilll,,,,more industries are seein the benifit of BD...HD be afraid,,be very afraid of the big bad blu-f
Saljr, you should let him get it. I have seen this and I must say its the only porn I have litterly watched all the way through. Surprisingly there is a good (for a porn) story line and you will want to watch the whole thing. Plus the lesbian scene where the girl is kidnapped for the bachelor party was pretty hot. That right there made the movie. Just listen to the pirates talk in the background "Aye, this is the pirates life for me."
Like a lot of people, I could take it or leave it, but the truth is, once the adult world picks a side, it's all over. Well, I have an EXTREMELY reliable source that works for one of the top adult production companies in the world, and they have a big Blu announcement cumming (I know, I couldn't resist) in a few weeks at the AVN convention. I'm sure it will be a topic for conversation at CES the week prior.
Fact: All they needed was an indy pressing plant not controlled by Sony (or Disney's hold over them), now they have one in Spokane, hint... ;-) and another in Japan. And, a real world authoring solution with real world support, which we will know about sooner than later, and it aint Blu-Print or Scenartist boys and girls. : )
