Note: In the U.S., A Night to Remember will be released on Blu-ray via the Criterion Collection on March 27th. See here.
Fair enough about Criterion, but The African Queen (restoration done by ITV with Paramount) was pretty fantastic, great picture quality plus uncompressed LPCM 2.0. If it's anything like that, I'll definitely pick this up.
This is an outstanding film. I've seen it several times and previously owned the Criterion DVD. It's not one of those films I watch often enough to warrant purchasing on Blu-ray, but I'm sure fans are looking forward to it. Historically speaking, it's still easily the most accurate representation (as far as movies are concerned) of the actual events that occurred the night of the sinking (other than the ship going down in one piece instead of breaking in half, which it did). I'm sure Criterion will do a great job on this one.
