Love this movie. I saw it when it first came out. I was living in Spain at the time, and they showed this movie for months, back in 1979.
Will buy it in a beat!
Wondering if it is the same announced a few weeks ago:
"Following their official announcement of Joseph Zito's Red Scorpion, independent British distributors Arrow Films have revealed that they are planning to release two more action films in March: Ian Sharp's Who Dares Wins a.k.a The Final Option (1982), and Andrew V. McLaglen's The Wild Geese (1978)."
I was 14 in 1978. Why the hell have i never heard of this movie? This should have been the kind of thing my dad and i went to see. Never saw it on network TV, or cable in the early 80s either. I would watch any "action" movie, good or bad, back in the day.
Watched this on TV as a kid and loved it. I own it on DVD, so I'll wait 'till the price drops for the BD to pick it up. Worth a blind buy for anyone at all interested.
RickER - It was a huge hit in the UK. I remember when it got its British TV premiere its poster art was splashed all across the cover of TV Times (a British equivalent of TV Guide).
I already own it on DVD but will double-dip to see it in Blu.
I've seen this movie so many times i can quote some scenes word-for-word
Arrow have already released Who Dares Wins on dvd/bluray combo.
they have done a good job with the release with some great special features.
so wild geese should be in good hands.
Before "The Expendables" this was the film that brought together generations of major stars into one action epic. Back in the days of actual physical effects, this film has a certain charm and appeal that cannot be duplicated today.
One of Richard Harris' best roles. Before he was a a bearded wizard... A definite buy for me.
Finally!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe??????????????
They have announced it a couple of times already...and nothing. Let's see if it finally happens. GRRRREAT FILM! One of my all time favorites.
