Michael Bay: "Blu-ray is Just Better"

Posted January 5, 2008 10:29 AM by Josh Dreuth

Michael Bay Outspoken director Michael Bay has once again posted his views on the format war, discussing how he feels about the recent announcement that Warner Brothers would exclusively support Blu-ray. After claiming HD DVD would "die a slow death", he gave hope to his fans that his recent blockbuster film 'Transformers' would one day be on Blu-ray.

Well another studio down. Maybe I was right? Blu ray is just better. HD will die a slow death. It's what I predicted a year ago. Now with Warner's down for the count with Blu Ray. That makes it easier for Wal-Mart to push Blu Ray. And whatever Wal-Mart pushes - wins. Hd better start giving out those $120 million dollars checks to stay alive. Maybe they can give me some so I can give it to my Make-A-Wish charity, just to shut me up. Have faith people Transformers will come out in Blu-ray one day!

Great comments, except that part about HD-DVD dying a slow death. It was doing that throughout 2007. Now it's just been given a lethal injection.

Well, lets hope Paramount gives the money back and starts releasaing on blu soon. Same with universal. Once Blu-Ray starts out selling Dud 5:1 the studios can't ignore that much lost rev. and it will happen. You wait. After May, when WB is Blu Only, after a few months, you will see 5:1 Blu vs HD if nothing else changes.

The Rock being released on Jan. 8/08 was directed by Michael Bay.
It stars Nicholas Cage, Sean Connerey, and Ed Harris.
Co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson.
It's Mr. Bay's best movie by far IMO.
Show some love and pick it up on Tuesday.

I like that he's in-your-face about the studios and their stupidity. His movies though are so meh to
me. Too much cheese.
