The world-famous graphic-novel "Le Petit Vingtičme" reporter and his friends had been absent
from the big screen for half a century and it took no less that Steven Spielberg and Peter
Jackson to finally bring him to modern filmgoers. Now coming soon to your home theater, The
Adventures of Tintin is available for pre-order from Paramount, now on it's 100th year celebration, from Amazon.com, on both regular
BD/DVD/DC Combo and 3D Combo Blu-ray editions for the price of $21.99 and $27.99 respectively.
No date
or specifics of the supplements and features to be included on this release are available yet.
On Amazon.ca it still says March 13th and it makes sense so I'm betting that will be the date. Will be getting this; wonderful movie and a great throwback to my childhood as I grew up reading all the Tintin books in their original French language.
Saw Tintin at the theater and liked it. But the 3D presentation was so soft and dark, just like most 3D. I can't wait to see this movie on my setup in glorious 2D!
I loved this movie, the 3d was also great, i already pre-ordered it from amazon uk its coming out 3/30 region free.
cant wait to see it on br 3d. amazon has no release date as of today.
i wish the original tintin cartoons from the early 60's would come out on dvd. only have 5 of them.
Cool it's in scope for the blu-ray, I think the movie looked better in that format. Same for Avatar, though I guess I shouldn't complain about getting more of the image if it was created.
I love how someone above has said that the 3D was dull and dark... mate... what cinema did you see it at? It looked absolutely perfect at the 2 cinemas I saw it in - bright and as clear as day (even during the night sequences).
Much like ghosting and cross talk in home 3D is usually the result of the display or glasses, a dull and dark experience in a theatrical 3D setting is usually a result of an improperly set up theater.
It's a Belgian story ... and Hergé wasn't too US-minded (in terms of politics, not against the citizens). I guess that's the reason it wasn't nominated. Also the fact that George Lucas prefered a small Belgian studio (Galaxy, Mol) to do the "Auro 3D-sound" in his next movie, in stead of the established US-studios insulted a few people in the US movie business. The Auro 3D-sound will be the next big thing: http://www.auro-3d.com/
