CES 2008: Sony Showcases 2 BD-Live Players

At the Sony booth, they are showcasing two new prototype BD-Live players. The Sapphire 3 and 4 will both be Profile 2.0. Sony also has indicated that the PS3 will get a BD-Live upgrade sometime in the future.

damn!!! it seems like all these companys just silently waited for CES. then bam! they drop the
bombs! so many new profile 1.1 and 2.0 players. i wonder what the hd guys are doing right now. |

That's great to see my PlayStation 3 (PS3) will continue to be one of the best Blu-ray players available on the market today. I can't wait for BD-Live! Bring it Sony! ; )

I wonder how much these 2.0 players will cost.... hopefully not very expensive, hopefully we will get some prices and estimated release date |

HD-DVD is SO gone!
Mr9BALL: Read this prior article on the BD-Live features. It basically amkes BD movies interactive with Picture-in-Picture and Audio Mixing with other BD friend's players through eithernet connections:

Can you guys ask Sony how far DTS-MA decoding is away ?? Anytime within the next 6 months?? Its getting ridiculous all these DTS-MA soundtracks, and all we get to hear is the core version. |
