At the Sony booth, they are showcasing two new prototype BD-Live players. The Sapphire 3 and 4 will both be Profile 2.0. Sony also has indicated that the PS3 will get a BD-Live upgrade sometime in the future.

That's great to see my PlayStation 3 (PS3) will continue to be one of the best Blu-ray players available on the market today. I can't wait for BD-Live! Bring it Sony! ; )

Can you guys ask Sony how far DTS-MA decoding is away ?? Anytime within the next 6 months?? Its getting ridiculous all these DTS-MA soundtracks, and all we get to hear is the core version.

I'm waiting for the official announcement that HD-DVD is dead from delousional Toshiba; it will be the icing on the cake! We all know its over but I think they'll drag out waving the white flag for months.
Lets see how long it takes for Universal to change sides and then Dreamworks and Paramount to break their exclusivity contact.

The PS3 just needs IR adapter support. Either from Sony or from a 3rd party like the Schmarts.com IR adapter. Mine works great with my Harmony. If they want people to intergrate the PS3 into a serious home theater system, they should do this.

kids were maithering for a games console and looked at the formats that were out and after decidiing that i would not mind a hd player as well went for the ps3. this machine is now the hub of my entertainment system. the news that has been coming out lately has proven that the ps3 and firmware upgrades make this the best buy ever. just watched vertical limit on blu-ray, scenery and audio effects something else. glad to be blu.
Awsome. I want to ask a question if you only have firmware 1.94 on your PS3 will it play the new movies like Resident Evil trilogy and Saw IV. Please tell me because I cant upgrade at the time.

tru_to_blu, yes, you can play all the Resident Evil trilogy and Saw IV with 1.94 but you must upgrade to 2.10 to enjoy the PiP features in the 3rd Resident Evil.

Wow the Good News will not stop for Blu ray!!! Great that Sony is getting 2 BD-Live players but the confirmation the the PS3 will be via fw (even though we expected/hoped) is the icing on the cake.
think my PSŁ was one of the best investments i ever made. Its not much for games at present in the UK, but it appears to be the ultimate blu ray machine on the UK market.
where can we go to watch these press conferences, because i would love to see them, if someone could tell me that would be great. and the announced BD-Live update for the PS3 already? wow i didnt expect it this early, i thought 2.0 was still in development but with all the new bd live players then i guess not. also what the hell i want DTS-MA decoding.
thank you sony now my PS3 is just about as good as the perfect HD DVD player I got, please include the BD-live so I can enjoy internet extra's like I have done for months with my HD DVD, Posiden, Transformers(HD Exclusive) was great with pip and internet extra's on transformers, now come on sony get some Blu's out there that I can injoy just as much as my HD DVD's, whew so glad I went with a PS3, cause those crappy sony standalone Blu's are great paper weights now, well maybe not maybe sony finally got a firmware update that allowed to even play Fox Blu's, FF4 was a bust on the sony BDP301, still pissed that fox had to push back ID4, I Robot and whole crap of others cause most standalones would not play FF4-2 or day after tomorrow, glad the PS3 got a quick firmware to play them, thanks again sony to almost getting it perfect.
Great news, however, was there any word whether or not the PS3 will be updated to come with a HDMI 1.3 port? Actually, what kind of plans do exist for new PS3 models, maybe with larger hard disks?
