CES 2008: Panasonic DMP-BD50 Blu-ray Player

Just a quick update regarding the new profile 2.0 BD Live DMP-BD50 from Panasonic. The player is expected to ship this spring and a price is not being announced at CES. Panasonic assures us that the player will be positioned at a price point slightly above the DMP-BD30.

It does decode internally, and if the price point is just "slightly" above the BD30 (SRP $499), then we do have a winner! |

I have a BD30 and just love it to death. Like any standalone, start-up time is longer than with the PS3, but it loads much faster than the HD-A30. The picture and sound quality is awesome. DTS-HD MA is great! Sounds a lot better than Dolby TrueHD, IMO. I'm going to get a BD50 as soon as I can get my hands on one! |

what does decodes internationally mean? decodes all regions? or works in all regions?
