In celebration of Battle Royale's North American Blu-ray debut next month, Anchor Bay Entertainment is hosting a limited theatrical run for the film.
Starting next week and running through mid-May, the Battle Royale director's cut will screen at various engagements across the country. These venues include:
It actually looks like they are playing this in mostly college cities or areas. My city is one of them - I just might have to check this out (already have the blu-ray on pre-order)
Ah, gratuitous violence couched in a nonsensical plot. My congratulations to the man-child, Asian fetishist cinephiles. Unfortunately I'm in an unsophisticated fly-over market.
YEAH UW-Madison!! Not only is it the first screening, but its a free screening as part of their annual Midnight Asian Cinema Series. I'll be road tripping to be there
Sweet I have attended the Columbus, OH. Annual Ohio Science Fiction Marathon from the beginning and it will be great to see Battle Royale on the big Screen
Yeah, I'll already have my blu-rays by the time it's playing in the theater here. Deal with a crowded theater (it's only getting a two day run here in DC, so I assume it will be packed), or watch it in the comfort of my own home, on my home theater system, at my leisure? Kind of a no-brainer when you put it that way. Happy for those that really want to see it on a big screen, but I'll pass.
