Pioneer is currently showing their new BDP-05FD Blu-ray player model that so far has no release date or price point. The player is Bonus View (profile 1.1) compatible and internally decodes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. Pioneer has promised more information at their product show in May.

Pioneer has also been demonstrating their new "Extreme Black Level" technology plasma display. This display is capable of producing true, absolute black-levels and is one of the most amazing and groundbreaking product demonstrations at CES. The content running on this demonstration is being fed by a Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player. Scenes from the Blu-ray version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End are included in this amazing presentation.

I hope it supports 2.0 by May, if they are not going to give us more info until then.
At least Pioneer is up to something Blu-related. |

I would really like a pioneer player to match the rest of my system, I just wish they'd make one in the vicinity of $500. |

My multiregion Pioneer DVD player (that supports SACD and DVD-Audio) just started sputtering today.
Karma, anyone? |

Sweet. I hope it will be able to send the decoded audio to my receiver through iLink. |

"I don't know how correct it is, but there is another website *cough*--engadget.com--who has stated that it will be around $999."
This would not surprise me, unless it's the first non Elite player. |

As far as I know it is an Elite player...I hate to quote engadget.com since a good many of the participants there have been HD DUDs--thus the *cough* before it the name instead of saying it properly. ;-)
But I do figure that the price tag will probably be around what was stated there. |

Very disappointing, I was expecting Pioneer to announce a new fully loaded Elite Blu-ray players that included support for SACD like the rumored BDP-LX90. Oh well... |

Am I looking up to Heaven? Am I seeing a blu-ray player that can finally internally decode DTS-HD MA? |

Good news that it decodes DTSMA internally. Can it send it to an amp via analog or is it HDMI only? |
