As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer special reissues of selected catalog titles, and the Airport Blu-ray will arrive in the September wave. Director George Seaton's disaster picture focuses on the turmoil that erupts when a bomb severely damages a passenger jetliner.
In dealing with the crisis, harried airport manager Mel Bakersfeld (Burt Lancaster, Field of Dreams) finds himself juggling crises large and small, from the personal intrigues surrounding those involved in the explosion to a raging blizzard that threatens to shut down Bakersfeld's airport.
Universal's Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its 2.20:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The studio has not yet listed any bonus supplements.
Hope the picture is great as it seemed that the image in the DVD was squeezed a little. Universal is it to much to ask for you to release Earthquake and the Airport sequels. Furthermore could you add some new bonus features to these releases?
Cool. Can't wait to get this on Blu-Ray. Love this early Disaster Film (with some Drama/Soap Style), the first of many others.
did you know: Christopher Lloyd, the famous Doc Brown in "Back to the Future" has here his movie debut. So far I know he can be seen as Bus Passenger.
Hope Universal will add some bonus features. Sadly, the german blu-ray release which will coming out already on 5th July doesn't have any. Jacqueline Bisset is still alive and also George Kennedy and Pat Priest (was once Marilyn Munster in "Munster"). Also John Findlater would be nice to see in a interview. He was the blond young man.
Oh Please Universal... give us some bonus features.
