In August, MGM and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will bring the 25th Anniversary Edition of Spaceballs to Blu-ray. Director Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles) applies his cracked comedy perspective to this cult classic, which spoofs the world of George Lucas' Star Wars franchise.
From Fox's official synopsis:
"When the evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis, Ghostbusters) attempts to steal all the air from planet Druidia, a determined Druish Princess (Daphne Zuniga, Gross Anatomy), a clueless rogue (Bill Pullman, Independence Day), and a half-man/half-dog creature who's his own best friend (John Candy, Planes, Trains, & Automobiles) set out to stop him. But with the forces of darkness closing in on them at ludicrous speed, they'll need the help of a wise imp named Yogurt (Brooks) and the mystical power of 'The Schwartz' to bring peace and merchandising rights to the entire galaxy!"
Fox's Blu-ray presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio alongside a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track and the following supplements:
