British distributors Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment have revealed that they are preparing for Blu-ray release Rob Heydon's Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy, (2011), starring Adam Sinclair, Kristin Kreuk and Billy Boyd. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is August 20th.
Dark-tinged indie romantic comedy based on Irvine Welsh's novella 'The Undefeated', taken from his three-part follow-up to the bestselling 'Trainspotting': 'Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance'. A chemical-fuelled romance with the beautiful and unhappily married Heather (Kreuk) gives Lloyd (Sinclair) a taste of pure ecstasy - but a drugs run gone wrong soon leads to one comedown too many. Irvine Welsh makes a cameo appearance as a Scotland Against Drugs representative.
Note: Blu-ray.com has a review of Danny Boyle's Trainspottinghere.
wow, never even heard about this movie before. love all of Irvine Welsh's novels, so i'll be looking forward to seeing this. "Trainspotting" and "The Acid House" were both pretty good adaptations, so i hope this doesn't disappoint...
