Sexy action superstar Kevin Sorbo slams evil as Kull, The Conqueror, a fearless barbarian warrior, who through skill and bravery, becomes king. Worshiped by the beautiful fortuneteller Zerata for his valour, Kull quickly becomes the mortal enemy of the forces of darkness, led by villainous Akivasha.
IMHO this movie was better than the new Conan film. But that's not saying much because I thought the new Conan movie was one of the worst movies of 2011.
I've never seen this one but I always wanted to. As for the question is it better than the new Conan? I'm 100% certain that it is. The first 12 minutes of the new Conan were fantastic but it was all downhill from there. One of the most uninspiring and tedious bores I've seen in the last decade. I had to force myself to finish watching it.
That cover makes it look like the kind of film it should have been, content wise. The people that did this cover was obviously inspired by the recent Conan film, but this film was a very very tame PG-13 with no blood at all when people get stabbed or slashed. It was still a good movie, IMO, but not violent at all like it should have been. Conan the Destroyer had more violence. There is this one scene in Kull that always makes me laugh and that's when all three of the heroes dismount their respective horses in sync.
