In September, Anchor Bay Home Entertainment will bring Piranha 3DD to Blu-ray. John Gulager (Feast) takes over directing duties from Alexandre Aja (Mirrors) for this sequel to 2010's Piranha, which follows the species of carnivorous fish as they travel from Lake Victoria to a nearby water park, where they proceed to terrorize the park's unsuspecting visitors.
Anchor Bay's Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following supplements:
Commentary with the filmmakers
Behind-the-scenes featurettes:
The Story Behind the DD
The Hofftastic World of David Hasselhoff
Wet and Wild with David Koechner
Busey's Bloopers
Short film: A Lesson with John McEnroe
Deleted scenes
Piranha 3DD is expected to street on September 4th.
HUGE step down from the first. It's a real shame Alexandre Aja wasn't back for this one. Or that they didn't get someone with talent to helm it. I hate Jon Gulager. I was excited when a sequel was announced, but they really botched it by hiring the Feast team. I've seen it once, which is good enough for me.
I'm glad they ditched the pretty awful temp cover art (which you can still see by going to the disc's actual page... who knows for how long though). I loved this movie. Total parody on the excesses of the first (also a favorite of mine)... well, at least the nudity part. Not as much gore but that's okay. The whole thing's a lot of silliness. Just disappointed they didn't sprout wings like they did in Cameron's Piranha sequel...
I love the first one but this one wasn't all that great. The cameos are fun (Hasselhoff alone is at least worth a rental). the only other real draw is the boobies, but even that isn't enough to save the movie
you know a movie is in trouble when it opens in theatres and aires on pay per view the same day.
I wanted to see this movie inthe theatre but i couldnt find one near me so i rented the 3d version on pay per view. mmmmmmmmmmm not very good. one good thing its a short movie.
While I agree the first movie was much better overall, this one really made me laugh. I also couldn't find it in a theatre near me so I rented it on VOD. My provider didn't offer it in 3D, but it was still allot of fun. This is the kind of "bad" movie I used to rent on weekends and get drunk with my friends. And yes, the Hoff makes this worth at least a rental.
AWFUL, awful film. Truly. It tries so hard, yet is so boring. Proof you need genuine talent to create a so-filthy-and-absurd-it's-good B movie extravaganza in the vein of Planet Terror or Drive Angry. This is just so bad it's crap.
Awful awful AWFUL movie. Loved the first one, but watched this on Vudu a few weeks ago at about half the price of theater and still wanted my money and time back.
This movie was utter nonsense compare to the first one... Why the @#!U did they change director! The first movie was waaaay better and also had better T&A scenes.
When you all mention "the first one", are you speaking of Joe Dante's 1978 original? As far as I am concerned, that is the only "Pirahna" movie worth a damn. Cameron's sequel speaks for itself, and Aja's remake was bloody as hell but not the least bit funny.
i found this movie hilarious. For me it definitely reached into the so bad its good category. After seeing it I was stunned that it wasn't a Paul Verhoeven or Roger Corman film. I think if it had a director attached to it who was known for so bad its good, like Verhoeven, Corman, Wiseau, Harlin, then it would have gotten appreciation
Saw this on, on demand and loved it. Could not stop laughing. Great movie to drink beer with buddies and LOL at all the silliness on the screen. Will be getting this for sure. It's a masterpiece of trash.
