Band Of Outsiders
Two restless young men enlist the object of their desire to help them commit a robbery -- in her own home. French New Wave pioneer Jean-Luc Godard takes to the streets of Paris to re-imagine the gangster genre, spinning an audacious yarn that's at once sentimental and insouciant, romantic and melancholy.
La Chinoise
Paris, 1967. Disillusioned by their suburban lifestyles, a group of middle-class students, led by Guillaume (Jean-Pierre Leaud) and Veronique (Anne Wiazemsky), form a small Maoist cell and plan to change the world by any means necessary. After studying the growth of communism in China, the students decide they must use terrorism and violence to ignite their own revolution.
Note: In the U.S., Band of Outsiders is currently available on DVD via the Criterion Collection. La Chinoise is also available on DVD courtesy of Koch Lorber Films.
