In the fall, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Men in Black III to Blu-ray. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty), this installment in the successful Men in Black science-fiction-comedy franchise finds MIB Agents J (Will Smith, Independence Day) and K (Tommy Lee Jones, The Fugitive) investigating a series of interplanetary crimes linked to alien assassin Boris The Animal (Jemaine Clement, Dinner for Schmucks).
However, Boris soon gains the upper hand on the two men when he discovers a way to kill K long before the taciturn MIB expert can bring him to justice. Faced with the loss of his partner and total world domination, J makes a risky decision: using an illegal time-travel device, he travels back to 1969 in order to save K and stop Boris before the vicious extraterrestrial madman can destroy the planet.

This pretty much ended up being one of those films in which everyone (including myself) went "huh, did not expect it to be that good!" Bot my gf and I were quite shocked :-p We both expected it to at least be better than MiB2... hell the *trailers* for MiB3 were better than *all* of MiB2 :-p But this was surprisingly good and even had quite a bit of heart. This might sound crazy, but I'd put it on par with MiB.
While I didn't find this one to be all that funny, it was quite good. It was infinitely better than the second one, but it doesn't quite top the first for me. Still, I'm in for a purchase (probably 3D).
If I had to guess, the DVD will feature only those features. But the blu-ray will have it all (and the 3D blu-ray will have those other 3D features as well)
personally thought it was the best of the series.. and the ending, although sad, brought it full circle and was a nice touch
I think the special features are just only those are on the DVD release but the Blu-rays will have those plus BD exclusives, as ClaytonMG said. Sony's probably just wording their press releases in a way that makes it sound like only the DVD will have them.
Well I held off on buying the cheap blu-rays with movie tickets on them (despite the fact that my best friend was overjoyed this opened on his golden birthday), figuring I'd buy the inevitable trilogy set.
But if it's going to be some stupid 'limited edition collector's set' with a stupid geeky figurine I don't want, and it costs a bundle, then that was stupid on my part.
Love this one, just as much as the original. Never thought I would feel something for a movie like this, but I did. Makes you appreciate the original even more, in a different way. Day one.
Can't wait for this! Best MIB yet imo and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Wish it was coming out sooner like it is overseas but o well I guess I'll wait it out!
I had a free ticket (Movie Money) to see this--So I checked it out in 3D. I must say that I was impressed! After all the negativity that I had heard about 2D features converted to 3D in post production had me ready to be unimpressed. Boy--was I wrong!
The end battle between Boris the Animal and Agents K and J on the gantry of Apollo 13 rocket was impressive!
I bought it here in Sydney as my partner loves the series.. it is an entertaining movie but not something i would watch over and over again.. Smith looks much older in certain scenes and in others he gets away it..
PQ / AQ is very good by the way..just astounded that its going to take so long to release elsewhere??
