In October, Warner Home Entertainment will bring Tom and Jerry: Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse to Blu-ray. This all-new animated adventure finds the beloved cat-and-mouse duo playing key roles in the mythic legend of Robin Hood.
From Warner's official synopsis:
"The fur flies again, when Jerry, as the smallest member of Robin Hood's gang, encounters Tom, a feline squire to Maid Marion. Not only are the cat and mouse from opposite sides of the moat, but Tom is secretly working as a spy for the Sheriff of Nottingham and evil Prince John. But when the villains succeed in capturing Robin, Tom realizes to his horror that they intend on harming Marion as well. So he joins forces with Jerry, not only saving their respective humans, but allowing for the safe return of King Richard as well."
Warner's Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. Further technical specifications are unknown, though the disc will contain the following supplementary materials:
Three additional Tom and Jerry cartoons:
Medieval Menace
The Two Mouseketeers
Robin Hoodwinked
Tom and Jerry: Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse streets on October 2nd.
Not only do I second that, but I've been looking for ANY info anywhere in terms of status update on Vol 2. and find nothing... I'd love at least to hear a "yeah, no release date yet on Vol 2, but we're working on it and it will be soon..."
Even for posterity sake, I'd love the Gene Deitch ones, COMPLETE Cinemascope collection, and throw in as a bonus the "related" cartoons like Spike and Tyke, etc. Would love both the FF and Widescreen versions of Chuck Jones ones too
Has anyone heard the status on the rights/ownership of Filmation's 80's T+J? Will that even get a DVD release? That one sounds right up Shout Factory's alley...
I just emailed Jerry Beck and i should here back sometime soon as soon as i get an email back from him i will post it for all to read, i was wondering the exact same thing????
