British distributors ITV DVD have revealed that they are planning to release a Double Play SteelBook Edition of director James Foley's Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, and Alan Arkin. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is October 22.
Based on the play by David Mamet, Glengarry Glen Ross tells the story of four real estate salesmen who are forced into a selling competition by their head office. First prize is a Cadillac, second a set of steak knives and third and fourth prizes are the sack. This adaptation of David Mamet's hit play is packed with star turns from some of Hollywood's most respected character actors.
Hopefully it will be in the original aspect ratio and have plenty of extras... the UK DVD releases were woeful and I ended up importing the US DVD instead. Fingers crossed that they've learnt from their previous mistakes!
perhaps Lionsgate will pick this one up in the States! I love this film.........Alec's best role, Lemmon cursing like a sailor.....and of course Pacino, Spacey and Ed Harris.........Always Be Closing.........
marblearch is right. We got a very good 2 disc set for this in the uk. Correct aspect ratio, great extras, the lot. Even if that is all that is ported over to the BD, then it won't rate as a disappointment.
