In September, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Hysteria to Blu-ray. This fact-based romantic comedy follows the exploits of Mortimer Granville (Hugh Dancy, The Jane Austen Book Club), a young doctor whose research in the field of female hysteria leads to a surprising technological invention.
From Sony's official synopsis:
"In an age of invention, one man (Dancy) set out to find a medical cure for what ails women and accidentally electrified our love lives forever. Hysteria...tells the surprising story of the birth of the electro-mechanical vibrator at the very peak of Victorian prudishness."
Sony's Blu-ray presents the feature in its 2.39:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following supplements:
