TF1 Video, in association with MK2, have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray director Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways (2012), starring Melvil Poupaud, Suzanne Clement and Nathalie Baye. The preliminary release date set by the studio is November 21.
Earlier this year, Laurence Anyways won Queer Palm and Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress (Suzanne Clement) at the Cannes Film Festival.
Set in the 90's, Laurence Anyways tells the story of a man who tries to salvage his relationship with his fiancée after revealing to her his aspirations of becoming a woman. Laurence Anyways is the story of a wild and unusual love.
I don't much care for tabloid earsay such as «despicable human being». I care about cinema, not gossip. There's a whole lot of filmmakers, alive and dead, that I admire and I'd be damn if I could tell wheter or not they are good human beings. Who can, really? Does it matter? The post concerns LAURENCE ANYWAYS, the film, and the blu-ray, which I'll buy (there are tremendous images in it). Would Xavier Dolan give me the time of day if I met him? Who cares?
I enjoyed Xavier Dolan's Heartbeats tremendously last year when it was released in the US. It's nice to see he has a new film making its way through the various distributors around the world. I look forward to seeing Laurence Anyways, the preview of which looks quite compelling. It's almost like Transamerica, but much edgier and more stylish.
Hi, I live in Quebec (Canada) too and I'm not actually an enormous fan of Xavier Dolan but you have to admit that his third movie Laurence Anyways is very good. Dolan is kind of pretentious and want to much to do arthouse movie but you can't hate his third feature. First he don't play in it like his previous movies, in second Susan Clement steal the show (her acting is fabolous) and third, the visual is incredible. It is his best movie so far.
I'm waiting for the blu-ray to have a release date in Canada
