The Brood and the Scanners Trilogy Prepped for Blu-ray

Independent British distributors Second Sight Films have revealed that they are preparing Blu-ray releases of David Cronenberg's The Brood (1979), starring Oliver Reed, Samantha Eggar and Art Hindle, and the three Scanners films: Scanners (1981), Scanners II: The New Order (1991), and Scanners III: The Takeover (1992).
Exact technical specs and supplemental features to be included with these upcoming releases are unknown at the moment. However, the distributors have indicated that they should be available on the market in late 2012/early 2013.
As usual, Blu-ray.com will update you with more information as soon as such becomes available.
Cool, I am pretty sure the Scanners sequels were never released on DVD in R1. Been wanting to see the second one (for David Hewlett) for a few years, now.
The early DVD release of The Brood in the UK (by Anchor Bay) contained the longer 'US' cut (as well as the shorter UK cut), albeit of inferior quality - I'm wondering/hoping that something can be done with this for its transition to HD?
