D&M Holdings, Inc., the parent company of many high-end home theater equipment brands such as Denon and Marantz, has revealed in their quarterly financial report that they would be introducing "additional [Blu-ray] models" in Q4 of FY07 (which ends on March 31, 2008 for D&M Holdings). One of these models is most likely the Marantz Blu-ray player, but no word on what other Blu-ray products may be released to the market at this time.
The press release also mentioned that consumer acceptance of the recently released Denon Blu-ray player and transport has been favorable, though no solid number has been released by the company.
Sweetness - I look forward to seeing what D&M have in store.
They already have a pretty cool Blu-ray site on the official Denon website.
Hopefully there is a 2.0 model en route from Marantz that will also play SACD/DVD-Audio discs.
Denon has always been tops with me. My first real reciever was a Denon and still works great for a friend of mine over a decade later. If they put out a BD 2.0 player with SACD and DVD-A under the Denon or Marantz brands, I will start saving for it immediately no matter how frightening the price tag is.
No SACD/DVD-A compatability that I can tell from the website. Bummer, I'd go for one of those in a heartbeat as well (have a pioneer that does both now, minus blu-ray of course, otherwise it rocks).
I find it criminal that their $999 base unit doesn't have 7.1 analog audio outputs...that's a feature in every other player in that price range. Guess I'm going with Pioneer Elite.
