ParaNorman Blu-ray

Posted October 4, 2012 12:20 AM by Ryan Seiler

Universal 100thUniversal is bringing Focus Features' frightfully funny and magically emotional ParaNorman to Blu-ray this November. The stop-motion family horror features the voice talents of Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In), Tucker Albrizzi (Good Luck Charlie), and Anna Kendrick (Twilight) and will be available on 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo on November 27th.

The makers of Coraline sculpt the story of Norman, a boy who must use his gift of seeing and speaking with the dead to save his town from a centuries-old curse about to come true. Caught in a wild race against time, the young ghoul whisperer will find his paranormal abilities pushed to their otherworldly limits as he bravely summons up all that makes a hero – courage and compassion.

Special Features:
  • Preliminary AnimaticC Sequences: With commentary from Director Sam Fell and Writer/Director Chris Butler.
  • Peering Through the Veil: A special behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creation of the weird and wonderful world of ParaNorman from building the characters to voicing them.
  • Featurettes: Seven short segments showcasing Norman and his extraordinarily unusual costars.
  • Feature Commentary: With Director Sam Fell and Writer/Director Chris Butler.
  • BD-Live: Access the BD-Live™ Center through your Internet-connected player to watch the latest trailers and more!
  • Ultraviolet Digital Copy

Missed this one in theatres. Looks like what Moonster House should've been, i.e. a fun coming of age spooky tale Will definitely check it out!

If you liked/loved Coraline then definitely check this out. It's just as great!
Long live stop-motion animation!

Missed it too. It will be a Blind-Buy for sure, I'm loving all these friendly-horror-themed animated movies!

I passed it in the theaters, because it's only showing in 3-D, and I despise 3-D with passion. The BD it is for me then.

@ vader4

Because he said "Go Mitt" and the unpopular opinion always gets voted down on Blu-ray.com and there are probably more Democrats than Republicans on here. Two thirds of my posts get voted down because I don't like the majority of mainstream films and although I always make constructive comments, if it doesn't follow the mass opinion like a good little sheep, folks hit the minus button here on this site to make your opinion disappear. Sad but true. I'm of the opinion that they should just get rid of those silly buttons altogether. Heck, I'll most likely get voted down for saying this!! Just watch...

@ TheManinBlu Thanks, I had a feeling!

I accidentally deleted my original comment so here it is for reference "Why is Boothill Gunslinger's comment voted down?"

That's unfortunate that people would do that, I don't support either candidates, but everyone has a right to their opinion and even if I disagree with it voting it down doesn't seem necessary, though if someone voted it down because it seems like a quick way to start an argument on the Paranorman news page then I would agree.
Anyway really excited about Paranorman being released!

@TheManInBlu or maybe the reason he got downvoted was because that has nothing to do with ParaNorman?

I don't give a rats ass about people downvoting me. My opinion on certain films is just that, my personal opinion. If u agree with what I'm saying, cool. If u don't, then that's you're problem. I'm not here on Blu-Ray.com to be popular. The Man in Blu@, vader4@ & Boothill Gunslinger@, I would not worry about it. But I suspect we have "some" Basement trolls on this page anyway, but whatever. Once again I'll be buying this film day one. I'm outta here like day old underwear...

Is Universal switching to including both 3D and 2D on the same disc? As both editions are listed as only 2-disc combos, but each only includes 1 BD. I'd like to know if it'll be a 3D/2D BD combo disc or another BD/DVD combo disc like Big Miracle, assuming the package specs aren't wrong both here and on amazon for the 3D edition. I don't trust they can squeeze both 3D, 2D, and extras onto the same disc without significant compromise. If it's a 3D/2D hybrid, I'll switch my preorder to the 2D edition, since I don't have 3D right now and 3D is bound to be cheaper by the time I do.

I'd like to know that as well about the 3D/2D disc. I also don't own a 3D player/TV but I've been buying the 3D versions then selling the 3D disc on ebay to recoup the cost down to around $8-$10 total for the title I want. If they are starting to do this I may have to start cutting way back on new releases until they get much cheaper or I find them used online.
