71 Countries Submit Films For Foreign-Language Oscars, Set a New Record

71 countries have submitted films in the Foreign Language Category for the 85th Academy Awards. For the first time ever, Kenya has also submitted a film. The long list of films sets a new record for this most prestigious event.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The 2012 submissions are:

It's one of the best Canadian features to premiere at TIFF in recent years.
