Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Premium Rush starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) is coming to Blu-ray. Directed by David Koepp, the action thriller co-stars Michael Shannon (Pearl Harbor), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), Dania Ramirez (X-Men: The Last Stand), Aasif Mandvi (The Proposal) and Lauren Ashley Carter (The Woman). Other than an included Ultraviolet digital copy, no added material or technical specs have been announced. Premium Rush races in to stores December 21st.
Wilee (Gordon-Levitt) is one of 1,500 bike couriers in Manhattan who rides on the edge by having a bike with no brakes. On this day, Wilee has a delivery that is so valuable that a corrupt NYC Detective, who needs the money, begins to chase Wilee throughout the city to get it before the envelope is delivered.

Premium Rush features yet another remarkable performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and also Michael Shannon. I'll certainly consider adding it to my collection, perhaps during a big sale. I also look forward to seeing the blu-ray of Looper, another Sony-distributed title with the very versatile JG-L.
I'll check Premium Rush out at Redbox first. However, for a good bike messenger film (and I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this one), I'd rather have Kevin Bacon's "Quicksilver" on Blu-ray. I wish Sony would announce that one soon.
