InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 Blu-ray

Posted October 18, 2012 12:38 AM by Ryan Seiler

Warner NewWarner Bros. has officially announced the upcoming release of InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 on Blu-ray. Directed by Yasunao Aoki, the television anime series stars the voice talents of Richard Ian Cox (InuYasha), Houko Kuwashima (Sango), and Jillian Michaels (Shippo). As of yet, no special features or technical specs have been detailed. Grab InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 in stores February 2nd.

Kagome finds her worlds colliding as she struggles to both fight alongside Inuyasha in the past and pass the exam to get into her high school of choice in the present. But with her spiritual powers sealed away, how will she purify the Shikon Jewel before Naraku can absorb it forever? As the battle enters its final stages, Inuyasha and his friends find their strength, loyalties and will to live pushed to impossible limits. And in the end, the final key to Naraku's and the Jewel's destruction may lie in nothing more—and nothing less—than the trust between a half demon and a girl from the future.

I really want to get these but I'm pretty sure they're going to release the season box set after like they did with dragonball kai. Don't know if I want to wait that long though haha.

2 completely different companies you are talking about there. Viz takes forever if at all making complete box sets.

Sorry, totally forgot when I wrote that about it being Viz vs. Funimation. It was just me hoping maybe they'd follow in their footsteps.

This is cool, but is there ever going to be a Blu-ray release of the whole series? I'm definitely interested in this set, but I'm more interested in getting the old "seasons" on Blu first.

@TTC

I doubt it. The entire series would have to be upscaled, and Viz doesn't appear to be taking very big steps in presenting their titles in HD outside of a few movies like Berserk, Bleach, and Naruto. If Inuyasha is any indication of them at least trying, then it could be the first step. But at this point, you're better off relying on FUNimation, Sentai, and even Media Blasters for HD anime.

Good point. It definitely looks like FUNimation has taken the first steps forward in creating HD anime discs, I just wish other companies would follow suit.
