To Rome with Love Blu-ray

Posted October 24, 2012 02:01 PM by Webmaster

Sony PicturesSony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray director Woody Allen's latest film, To Rome with Love (2012), starring Roberto Benigni, Alec Baldwin, Ornella Muti, Woody Allen, Penélope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg and Judy Davis. The preliminary release date set by the studio is January 15th.

To Rome With Love is a kaleidoscopic comedy movie set in one of the world's most enchanting cities. The film brings us into contact with a well-known American architect reliving his youth; an average middle-class Roman who suddenly finds himself Rome's biggest celebrity; a young provincial couple drawn into separate romantic encounters; and an American opera director endeavoring to put a singing mortician on stage.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment UK has revealed that it plans in 2013 to continue treating one of Sony's very largest and most important markets for Home Video as if it were nothing more than an inconvenient afterthought, after revealing that it is NOT planning to bring to Blu-ray in the UK Woody Allen's latest film, To Rome with Love (2012), starring Roberto Benigni, Alec Baldwin, Ornella Muti, Woody Allen, Penélope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg and Judy Davis. The preliminary release date set by the clowns running the UK branch of the studio is February 13th, for the DVD.

To Rome With Love is a kaleidoscopic comedy movie set in one of the world's most enchanting cities. The film will bring well into double figures the number of Sony titles which during the last twelve months did NOT receive a Blu-ray release in the United Kingdom, which is the largest Home Video Market in Europe.

Never got around to seeing it this past summer. Seriously thinking of blind buying it in spite of mostly negative reviews for this one...

Watching Woody Allen go through the motions, as in "To Rome with Love", a minor Allen work, is still better than watching the Wachowskis or Nolan huff and puff and bring great, lumbering "great" films to rest on the credulous consciousness of their poor audiences...

It was great to see Woody Allen back on the big screen. This is not his strongest work, but it is entertaining, witty, funny, and charming. If you're a fan of Allen you will enjoy 'To Rome With Love.'

True that's it's not his very best but it's still a lot of fun and worth a purchase. I'm there day 1.
