Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release Ken Follett's World Without End as a two-disc Blu-ray set. Best-selling Welsh author Ken Follett has sold more than 130 million copies of his books worldwide. Street date is December 4th.
The hit miniseries from Tandem Communications and Ridley & Tony Scott's Scott Free Films stars an internationally acclaimed cast including two-time Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon, two-time Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson, Ben Chaplin, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Peter Firth, Charlotte Riley, Rupert Evans, and Sarah Gadon.
In World Without End, times are tougher than ever in England as the country is on the brink of war with France and the citizens are facing The Plague that will eventually decimate one-third of its population. A feisty young woman (Riley) inspires her medieval town to confront the most powerful forces of her time -- namely the Church and the Crown -- as they fight to save their town from ruin, and ultimately usher in a new era of freedom, innovation and enlightenment.

Watched the first episode last week. The worst thing about it is that the Reelz Channel is only in SD in my area. It really diminishes what is, so far, a great show. I'll still be watching tonight.
Oh, so this IS a sequel to "Pillars"?!? I just caught the first few minutes of the first episode (DVR'ing it), and I thought that cathedral looked familiar. Well then, definate buy for me then.
I liked TPOTE and good thing they made the sequel book into another miniseries, I'm not watching it on TV since Reelz isn't in HD, but I'll definitely check out these Blu-rays
