Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming 2D and 3D Blu-ray editions of Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), starring Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory and Michelle Rodriguez. Street date is December 21.
The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice (Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

No Extended Cut? Hope there will be one on the German release, as the German distributor (which also is the co-producer of these films) already released an extended cut of Apocalypse.
Day 1 blind buy for me as I never got around to seeing it in the theater. The first Resident Evil movie that I didn't get to see on the big screen... :-/
The Germans have and extended cut of part 2? I was always upset that a director's cut of part 1 never saw the light of day. On the commentary, Paul W.S. Anderson said that one would be forthcoming, but no. Is it just me or do studios not release as many director's/extended cuts as they used to?
Paul anderson needs to go away fast. He took this game series and made it almost unrecognizable to it's source material. He's a hack if nothing more. Event Horizon was, in my own opinion, of course, the only worthwhile thing he did. I was thrilled to see that he was booted off the Castlevania film project. Too bad it will probably never get made, but I prefer that to Paul's "my own spin on this one" mentality. That idea of his was awful. Want your own spin, Paul? How about using your own ideas, and stop butchering other people's source material.
