Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 Blu-ray

Posted November 6, 2012 04:51 PM by Webmaster

Warner 90th AnniversaryWarner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has officially announced and revealed the cover art for the highly anticipated Blu-ray release of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2. While special features have yet to be detailed, the conclusion to writer Bob Goodman and director Jay Oliva's well received adaptation of Frank Miller's groundbreaking take on the Batman mythos arrives on January 29, 2013.

The Dark Knight (voiced by Peter Weller), along with new sidekick Robin (Ariel Winter), have finally reclaimed Gotham City and allowed a ray of hope to penetrate the reign of terror that The Mutants had cast upon his city. But with Batman back in the spotlight, the extended media coverage has awoken a far worse evil at Arkham Asylum: The Joker (Michael Emerson). Forever destined to be mortal enemies, The Joker has a diabolical scheme that may pull Batman down to the darkest levels of insanity. Meanwhile, on the horizon, a global catastrophe races towards Gotham and with it a familiar face: The Man of Steel (Mark Valley), though this time he has Batman in his sights. Witness as the aging Dark Knight wages a tireless war against crime while proving that courage and will are indeed timeless.

Cool, glad the wait isn't as long as I'd thought it might be.

Hopefully they will package Dark Knight Returns part 1&2 together and discount them.

I agree, very fast turn around time on this. Can't wait to see it. Part 1, instantly, became my #1 DCU title...I'm hoping this will be #1A! ;-)

Cool. I might wait to see if they release a set with 1 & 2 together before buying. Then again, I'm also still waiting for Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody affair, so...

Woo, they have to fix that cover art. It's not even the right Batman!

There's no reason for them to release these separately. The first was only like an HOUR long! Couldn't they easily have combined these into a 2 hour animated feature? It's not that hard, guys... $_$

Oh hey, Michael Emerson as The Joker! That's gonna be awesome!

Sweet. Love the first one, even with the parts I didn't like how they changed from the books.

If DC needs to charge these prices for an hour of animation, then I think they need to re-evaluate their budgets for putting these together.
