In addition to the various Lightning and Black Friday deals scheduled for this week, Amazon is holding its standard Blu-ray Deals of the Week sales. Through November 24th, the Blu-ray Deals of the Week affect Twentieth Century Fox's Planet Of The Apes Collection as well as Fox's Homeland: The Complete First Season set and Season One of Disney's Once Upon a Time.
The Planet Of The Apes Collection bundles together the first five entries in Twentieth Century Fox's landmark science-fiction franchise:
The package also contains a wide assortment of bonus supplements, including behind-the-scenes documentaries, interviews with cast and crew members, and audio commentaries.
Amazon is offering the Planet Of The Apes Collection for $22.99 (a 54% discount from its MSRP of $49.99).
Homeland: The Complete First Season, on the other hand, is the inaugural installment of Showtime's Golden Globe-winning spy drama - it won awards for Best Television Series (Drama) and Best Actress in a Television Series (Drama). The series stars Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet) as Carrie Mathison, a troubled CIA agent convinced that Al Qaeda is using a decorated U.S. war veteran (Damian Lewis, Band of Brothers) to help execute a terrorist attack on American soil.
Fox's three-disc Blu-ray set presents Season One in its 1.78:1 broadcast aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. The set also contains bonus supplements such as deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and commentaries on selected episodes.
Amazon is offering the Homeland: The Complete First Season for $24.99 (a 64% discount from its MSRP of $69.99).
Finally, Once Upon a Time is a fantasy drama centering around Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison, Warrior) a bail bondswoman who, after reuniting with the son (Jared Gilmore, Mad Men) she abandoned a decade earlier, discovers the amazing truth behind her own lineage: she is the daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin, Walk the Line) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas, Thor), both of whom are trapped alongside other iconic fairy-tale characters under the spell of the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla, Miami Medical).
Disney's five-disc Blu-ray set presents the complete first season in its 1.78:1 broadcast aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. The set also contains bonus supplements such as commentaries on selected episodes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and deleted scenes.
Amazon is offering the Once Upon a Time: The Complete First Season for $24.99 (a 69% discount from its MSRP of $79.99).
These deals expire at 12 AM PST/3 AM EST next Sunday, November 25th.
Decent deal on the Apes set, though Best Buy still has them beat. The other two are repeats of Best Buys release week pricing, which amazon pricematched at the time as usual. It's odd that amazon's BD deals of the week are so rarely actually their best BD deals that week. This week included; there are even better deals that aren't being promoted as a deal of the week, though their prices will likely be that low all week long.
I'm interested by Once Upon A Time but I have soooo much to buy until the end of the year, I'm going to wait for something I want even more.
Besides, I think I'm going to wsait until the second season is released on Blu Ray just to be sure that it's still going to be Region Free.
