I had ST on Price Tracker at $150 for the longest time, then the UK set was dropped to £72.91 (with Swedish tax) and I bought it. Fortunately that still comes to the equivalent of just below $117, so I'm still happy
But, definitely a good price, if anybody has been on the fence on the ST set now is the time to strike!
That IS a great price, but I ALREADY HAVE Season 1 from a previous sale! They've been holding Seasons 2 & 3 price hostage forever. I'd hate to have to have to double-dip on Season 1 just to complete my set.
Sorry y'all but this is an off topic discussion on this thread but I need to know ASAP so here's my inquiry. I am planning to buy region free blurays from amazon.co.uk. They have good bluray deals there that I would like to take advantage of like the Universal Classic Monsters which is region free.
This might sound as a stupid question but will the US version of PS3 play region free blurays? I have the original PS3 60GB fatty from 2006 with the card slots. Anybody know? Sorry, I'm not such of a techno buff.
OgScorpion, it will play region free Blu-rays, but Region Free doesn't mean the frame rate is compatible. I own UK sets of 'Mummy', 'Bourne', and 'Potter' series and couple others. When I bought 'Sherlock', no go. Had to buy it in America. Conversation for another thread.
I would LOVE Star Trek. I paid $132 to buy the remastered set over 5 years ago. I hang my head in shame now! Still, so much to catch up on, and Amazon Prime members can watch re-mastered Trek in HD for free.
@obriensg1: Thanks for the reply. It really helps alot. I also read the comments/reviews of the UK version of Universal Classic Monsters and they do work on PS3. I just bought it for the mere price of $42.62 which is way cheaper than the US price of $129.00.
I had picked up the Star Trek: TOS volumes used from a local used game/video store for just over $100 a year ago. They were all in very good condition because of the BD disk coatings. It was worth every penny!!
LOL Gunslinger. My wife doesn't control me. Anything either of us want that's over a hundred bucks, we pass it by the other one. We have both found over the years that all we need is someone to tell us why something is a waste of money and then we won't buy it. It's saved us a lot of green over the years.
