Can anyone tell me iff these are prices only for today or are these for some time??? I am asking this because if I order too much (money wise) in one go I have to pay taxes for having it shipped to Europe.
Not a big fan of Criterion movies in general, but did pick up The Game and Rosemary's Baby on Sunday... probably ended up with 10-12 movies from the whole Black Friday Holiday Fiasco... This site was a HUGE help.
Can you imagine a BD being priced at over $20 being called a 'value' of some sort? Am I really supposed to jump on that? Give me Dexter at $7.99 a season and I'll think about the purchase of seasons one and two.
@thephantomcat, Best Buy has been price matching Amazon at the register for weeks now if you'd rather get your reward points through them. I have an Amazon card so I get the same amount of points either way.
The duration of the discounted prices is indefinite. For example, earlier last week, The Avengers was at $15.00 for Black Friday ... before the week was through, it had gone up to $24.95. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was $3.99 just a few days back and yesterday it went up to $9.99. Same for many others, some more dramatic, some less, and some stay at the discounted price longer. Of course, it may come down again or it might not. Also, you'll notice that due to the high demand of certain titles presently, they may not ship immediately, and thus sent separately/individually (with no extra charge). This may help avoid the extra duty you mentioned.
I really wish I had the cash for all those Criterions. But given that I purchased 25 movies over the weekend, I'm pretty much spent.
It is funny to see people complaining about some of these prices not being low enough. At this point in DVD's life cycle (2003, if my math is correct) there was no way I was getting brand new movies at these prices. And with Blu-Rays being so superior, plus Amazon prime, I honestly feel like this is quite the golden age of movie purchasing.
So you can get seasons 1-5 of Dexter this week for $99.95. Wasn't that BF lightning deal for the same sets just shy of $105? Are the people that bought that out of luck or will AMZ price adjust and give the $5 back if asked?
Stupid amazon messed up and I missed out on Brave, the one few title this year I thought was a good deal, considering it recently came out. I also didn't expect Amazon to sell out of The Bond set so fast. It's been a rough year for blu-rays lol.
I have been trying to order Heroes season 3 all day but every time I pull it up its priced at $18.29. I have even gone as far as entering the check out to see if the discount would show up, but no luck. Is anyone else experiencing trouble with this?
This is definitely a weak Cyber Monday deal compared to last year. I only bought Cool Hand Luke, Just Go With It and Rosemary's Baby from Bestbuy.com for $3.99, $3.99 and $17.99 plus I get to earn points to my BB Rewards.
