The web-slinging excitement of Spider-Man is even more fun in 3D!

Now that the zany drama surround Spider-Man's place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe has died down and a third-entry in the franchise has been announced, it's a joy to sit back and revisit the famous web-slinger with the undeniably entertaining and charming Spider-Man Far From Home. Produced by Sony Pictures but set within the MCU audiences have come to love over the years, everything about the second entry in the latest Spider-Man incarnation is fantastic.

Tom Holland amazes as the "Amazing Spider-Man" (pun 100% intentional!) and the supporting cast (including Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Peter's best friend Ned, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury) are dynamite on screen. When the world faces a new mysterious threat while Spider-Man is on vacation in Europe with his classmates can the hero once again rise to the occasion and defeat the evil Mysterio? Tune in (with 3D!) to find out. Glasses on, dudes. There's about to be a lot of web-slinging.

Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives on 3D Blu-ray with a 1080p MPEG-4 MVC encoded presentation in the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.39:1 widescreen. Swinging out of the screen and into one's living room, Spider-Man: Far From Home is an adventurous experience that 3D fans won't want to miss. The 3D presentation is fantastic with medium-to-strong 3D layering throughout the entire 3D experience.

While the dramatic scenes of Spider-Man: Far From Home might have a bit less "pop" than the action sequences do, the entire presentation is consistently immersive and gives the "spectacular" Spider-Man his name for a reason. The film is much more engaging, absorbing, and entertaining with the benefit of 3D added into the equation. Watching a film like this in 3D is another great reminder to fans of the format how the technology is an important filmmaking tool that elevates the art form to even more immersive heights. Don't miss this in 3D: swing for it.

The 3D Blu-ray release has received an impressive 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack that is far from being a slouch in the sound department. The dynamic track has impressive LFE with the bass thundering when necessary. The score comes through with startling clarity at all times. The track is a joy ride providing more excitement throughout the web-swinging action scenes. Dialogue is crisp and clear. During action-packed moments (such as the non-stop battles at the conclusion) the bass is off the charts with energy that makes full use of the surrounds. An awesome sound design that works wonders.

While the release might not include the Dolby Atmos mix from the 4K release or the 7.1 track on the standard 2D Blu-ray, viewers shouldn't feel deterred from picking up the release. This is a engaging track that brings plenty of excitement to the experience. An exceptional lossless audio mix with great energy on every level.

The release includes the same supplemental features which are included on the standard 2D Blu-ray disc in the 3D/2D combo pack. There are no bonus features provided on the 3D Blu-ray itself (as it serves only to provide the 3D feature-film with the best technical presentation).

A web-slinging hero for the hero in all of us, Spider-Man takes a swing for the fences in the enormously entertaining Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film has heart, humor, and energy that keeps the experience an exciting one. With outstanding action sequences (including a truly epic finale), experiencing Spider-Man: Far From Home in 3D greatly enhances the experience and gives audiences the world over exactly what it is they crave most of all: a great time. Consider the 3D Blu-ray a must-own release for Spider dudes and dudettes the world over. Don't miss it. Highly recommended.
