Friday the 13th Blu-ray offers solid video and audio in this enjoyable Blu-ray release
Searching for his missing sister, Clay Miller heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing lying in wait under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has in the search for his missing sister, Whitney, with the help of Jenna, a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history -- the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

Warner Brothers and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 'Kiuller Cut' of the 2009 Horror remake 'Friday the
13th.' The disc is identical to that found in the 2009 wide release. It does ship with a fresh Movies Anywhere digital copy code. See the

Blood red covers the worn background for the Friday the 13th SteelBook. It's peppered with specks and flecks and the red fluctuates
slightly in intensity. The main front image is of Jason, appearing from ankles to shoulders, clad in black and looking very one dimensional and flat.
White hands
protrude from the shirt cuffs and the slasher is holding a white machete, dripping with blood at the tip. The handle is black so as to differentiate the
weapon from the hand. The rear panel carries overt the same worn, red color (and the points of wear are identical on both sides). Center and slightly
above middle is Jason's famous mask, also blood red with shadowy defining characteristics (the eyes, nose, and various air holes around it). The spine
is
also bloody red and features the film's title center in scuffed white letters. A Blu-ray logo appears at the top and a Warner Brothers logo may be found
at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The single Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a centered hub. The inner
print is a two-panel spread that features Jason, poised to swing a deadly two-handed bladed weapon, on the left hand side against a dark nighttime
backdrop. The right side is largely blank, a simple continuation of the nighttime setting. A billing block appears on the bottom left.

Friday the 13th's SteelBook issue adds nothing new beyond the packaging and a fresh Movies Anywhere digital copy code. The SteelBook
presentation is simple but attractive, though it might have arguably worked better with the superior image, which appears on the rear, to show up on
the front. The front image is, to this reviewer's eyes, a little bland. Worth a look for SteelBook collectors and fans who have yet to own the film on
Blu-ray; the SteelBook is actually several dollars cheaper at time of writing.
