hmm

The movie was just ok. I don't think the needed to make this a two part movie. This could have been summed up and
added with the second part. Just not enough action and too much awkwardness. I'll leave it at that.

PQ - The picture was blu-ray quality. Nothing bad to say about it.

AQ - The audio bit the dust though. There was very little dynamic range. The sound track wasn't much either but there
wasn't much they could do with that being there was not much action. The audio just seemed compressed.

Pretty Decent

"Breaking Dawn" being my least favorite of the books, I wasn't sure I would like this one. Although they did leave out a lot, I think it turned out pretty well. The wedding was beautiful, and it illustrated Jacob's struggle perfectly. The CGI is better on the werewolves this time around.

PQ is pretty solid; the best PQ of all the Twilight movies so far. Audio was superb; it's 7.1 surround, so my system got a full workout.

Rent Blu Ray Only Dolby Digital?

The Red Box Blu Ray rental version was only Dolby Digital. Again these movies tend to drag on. I rent for just to see what happens next. One left that might have some suprises.

Twihard's will continue on

With the conclusion of the twilight movies happening in the near future, we can only speculate and hope that the saga will continue with Jacob's love story. My husband allowed me to write on his page because I am a twihard. I found this last movie's cinematography beautiful. The wedding scene was breathtaking with the the play on lights and greenery. The makeup artists did a scary job making Bella wither away with her pregnancy. The birth scene was quite graphic. Out of all of the films this movie was a little too dark for young twihards.

Forever is only the beginning.

After sitting through three previous eye slaughtering Twilight films, Breaking Dawn part 1 finally features a more grown up style plot and the eventual downfall that will occur in part 2. I've tolerated this series of films only because my wife and 2 oldest daughters have read the books and like the movies. I was fine with this entry having been a little better acted by the main actor's and the pacing of the plot unfolded with good execution. I'm hopeful now this set-up will conclude on a high note and we can finally be done with this teeny bopper vampire series. Summit's blu features a clean print and a low key 7.1 surround track. A small amount of extra's is included thus keeping all the better stuff for the eventual double-dip when the series is complete and an ultimate box set of all 5 films gets released.
