awesome! i am very happy this got a PCM track.

Now I wonder if they will max. out the bitrate on the AVC encode or just port the HD DVD one over. The HD DVD one did look fantastic, so either way its cool.

Sounds good to me, 2Qs? though... A) Would this not be a new transfer? I know the old one was AVC, but there was talk of a new encoding/ master. B)If they announce the easter eggs, doesn't that make them not easter eggs?

Sweet. Im glad to hear i will have PCM and a new video encode. But count me into the group thats slightly dissapointed it doesnt have 7.1

All blurays should have 7.1, I fully believe that. Especially on movies that only have a single TrueHD or DTS-MA track (although thats not the case here). And no, Dolby Pro-L II is NOT good enough.

joevfx: PCM isn't new to Blu-ray. PCM lossless occupies more disc space because it's uncompressed
audio. DTS HD and TrueHD audibly sound as good (subjective) and occupy less disc space.

Having both PCM5.1 and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 tracks on the same disc is redundant. Both of them give you 5.1 channels. One is uncompressed and the other one is lossless. So, in theory, they should sound the same. More people can decode PCM than TrueHD, so why not make it PCM 5.1 and TrueHD 7.1? At least that will satisfy those of us who have a 7.1 system.
