I used to get exited looking on websites like this to see what's coming out next on Blu, now it's like "Ho hum, no big whoop". This is a good thing, don't get me wrong, it's just that it used to make my day seeing the growth of Blu-ray. Now it's the usual everyday news. GO BLU!!!

The flood gates have opened and there's no holding back!! Can't wait for 10/14! With the rumored release of Braveheart, this will truly be a very good year for Blu-ray and the upcoming holiday season should define the format.

The AVC info is probably wrong, I just don't see Universal re encoding these movies and no other site quoting the announcement is mentioning the codecs being used. I'll bet money on HD DVD encode VC1, but that doesn't mater because all of the flicks looked good but didn't sound to good.

The HD DUD version did have HD sound, and the Extended Version was placed in the DVD side of the combo disk. Now what? ;-)

Since Casino and American Gangster are on BD-50s, I bet they are re-encodes. If they weren't, then they would definitely fit on a BD-25 because that is still more room than what HD-DVD would offer. Looking forward to Casino!

Ummm... why do people bash products they know nothing about? HD DVD was 30GB, which is why they would need a BD-50 even if it was a straight port (which it isn't, but that's not the point).

Definitely getting this.

I hope this begins a trend of classic movies heading to Blu Ray. IMO if more classics were on Blu Ray with extras not available in the DVD edition, that would really help sell the format. I'm waiting for some older stuff like G-Men to come to Blu Ray and I hope it happens soon.
