This is a nice surprise, glad for more classic animation on Blu-ray, though I'll wait until I see how the transfer is. Now if WB can get back into releasing classic Tom & Jerry, then we'll be golden.
Mmm. On one hand, the latter shorts are not very good (the ones with different music and animation), so I have no problem with skipping some of them. But then there's the problem. What if they don't sell the number of copies they expect, and stop the releases altogether, like Warner, or some other classic shows where there's just one or two seasons on Blu-ray.
Like I said, I'm willing to ignore the latter shorts (I only have the first 3 volumes on DVD), but surely there are folks who want all of them, and there's certainly a risk with this volume by volume approach.
Gee, if there's only 20 on volume 1, I can't imagine how long it will take to get them all out and then issue a set.
First world troubles for a collector. I'll gladly pick this up on a sale.
Have the complete DVD set, and the later shorts are so bad that my short-term wallet is relieved it's just Vol. 1, but this may cost me more in the long run. Wonder how many volumes they'd have to do to cover the "best" period. But Vol 1 is a must.
