The Blob Collector's Edition Blu-ray
Posted September 16, 2019 02:50 PM by
Scream Factory has detailed its upcoming Collector's Edition of Chuck Russell's film The Blob (1988), starring Kevin Dillon, Shawnee Smith, Donovan Leitch Jr., Jeffrey DeMunn, and Candy Clark. The release will be available for purchase on October 29.
Synopsis: The Blob is back in this horrific tale about a vile, malignant life-form that crashes to Earth in a cozy, rural American town called Arborville. Untroubled by conscience or intellect, the Blob does only one thing – and it does it well. It eats anything and everything that moves: men, women, and children. And tonight it wants to swallow the town of Arborville. The original version of The Blob thrilled and terrified audiences back in the 1950s. Now the oozing, gooey killer is back with a whole new high-tech look. What was once only suggested now comes to life with state-of-the-art special effects in the tradition of such thrilling remakes as The Thing and The Fly.

Which version of Eddie's death are going to use? there's 2. One where he is a mass of grey flesh and one where he is skinless but a regular corpse? Kinda surprisd Kevin Dillon didnt do an interview.
@slappywhite78 - no new transfer, but a ton of extras, including Shawnee Smith commentary. Plus, the previous transfers are excellent. Now if Scream releases a new 4k several years later, I'll be pissed.
Scream/Shout should just start releasing these as digital editions if they're not going to bother securing restorations/new scans of the actual films themselves. I love features as much as the next person, but I'm first and foremost looking for the best presentation of the MOVIE. I've been disappointed in too many of their transfers to get excited about this, and otherwise stacked and awesome as the bonus features look.
