Pet Sematary Two Collector's Edition Blu-ray
Posted November 5, 2019 04:57 PM by
Scream Factory has dated its upcoming Collector's Edition of Mary Lambert's film Pet Sematary Two (1992), starring Edward Furlong, Anthony Edwards, Clancy Brown, Jared Rushton, and Darlanne Fluegel. The release will be available for purchase on February 25.
Exact technical specs and supplemental features have not yet been finalized, but the label has confirmed that director Lambert is "on board and very excited about the release".
Synopsis: Sometimes dead is better. But the shocking terror that plagued Ludlow, Maine, in Pet Sematary is still very much alive in this sequel to the 1989 hit film.
After the death of his wife, veterinarian Chase Matthews (Anthony Edwards, Zodiac) and his 13-year-old son, Jeff (Edward Furlong, Terminator: Dark Fate), move to Ludlow to rebuild their lives. Antagonized by the neighborhood kids, Jeff befriends another outsider, Drew Gilbert, who lives in fear of his cruel stepfather, Gus (Clancy Brown, John Dies At The End). After Gus cold-bloodedly shoots Drew's beloved dog, the boys bury the body in the local Indian burial grounds – a place rumored to have the powers of resurrection. But when evil is awakened, the boys realize that sometimes you should just let dead dogs lie.
This is a terrible film. Do they actually think people are going to buy this for $28 or whatever ridiculous price Shout charges? If Paramount didn't think a cheap catalog title would sell enough to justify an issue, it's hard to believe their "research" led them to believe that this would sell. Save your money. Avoid this cinematic disaster.
@skads thankfully scream/shout always includes the original poster art on the reverse side. I always prefer the original cover art to their commissioned stuff
@thehornedone You underestimate the taste of many in the horror community and Shout! Factory's customer base. There are plenty of titles they've distributed of "disreputable" quality that sell incredibly well. Something like "Pet Sematary Two" is gonna be a good seller because of its cult fanbase. And if they get interviews with Clancy Brown, it'll help.
I really like the film, but I don’t like that cover art. This isn’t a werewolf movie. However, I buy discs not for the art but for their content. I really hope that Scream can get an on-camera interview with Furlong.
@Chaotic....yeah, that credit is absolutely hilarious, surely Furlong would rather T2 be the credit, but I guess they wanted to use a current credit, no matter how small it is.
Pony up some money for some better cover art..or..have a talk with the person doing the art...."try not to bang a hammer over people's heads with the images, ya know..just let the movie kind of hint at something...like the old days...like the original artwork, ya know? Do ya?!!
