Manga Films Goes Blu-ray

Posted February 4, 2008 02:15 PM by Josh Dreuth

Blu-ray MoviesSpanish distributor Manga Films has revealed that they will begin releasing titles in the Blu-ray format. The first titles to come from the distributor will be 'Mr. Brooks' and 'Rambo', both due to be released in July. No specs or extras have been announced at this time for either release, so Spanish Blu-ray fans will have to wait just a bit longer for those details.

Manga Films initially announced releases for HD DVD, but those releases were canceled last year. The company was contacted with regards to their future high definition plans, and they commented that they had no current plans to release any titles on HD DVD.

Thanks goes out to Grubert for posting the news in our forums.

Rambo on Blu-ray? I can't wait. I loved that movie. Its going to be so bad ass in Blu-ray. It was actually fairly realistic, I can't wait to see all the gore in Blu. Yeah, I am kinda messed up in the head.

It seems that Dutch distributor Dutch FilmWorks , which released titles on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, will be releasing only Blu-Ray titles in the future.

Again Excellent news. It seems the Warner ripple is taking effect. And soon it'll have to ripple down to the stock holders over at Viacom & Universal and they will most likely change their stance too.

May the Blu be with you.

So basically every production company is creating Blu-ray movies except for Paramount and Universal. When will they realize they are loosing SO much money?

Poor poor HD-DUD.

This gets better and better every day and week. By the end of March, the world will be in a sea of blu. I just want Para to come back so badly so I would just laugh at Kornblau for not only being with HD DVD the longest, but being the last, heh heh heh.
